Prop 65

California Proposition 65 Information

California’s Proposition 65 (“Prop 65”) requires businesses to provide a warning if products sold in the state contain even trace amounts of certain chemicals that the State of California has listed as potentially causing cancer, birth defects, or reproductive harm.

Prop 65 includes over 900+ chemicals, many of which are commonly found in:

  • Soil, plants, and natural ingredients

  • Coffee, vegetables, protein powders

  • Household items and everyday consumer goods

  • Dietary supplements and herbal extracts

Because of this, Prop 65 warnings are extremely common in California—especially for natural, plant-based, mineral-based, or soil-sourced products.

Why Some Martial Athletics Products Have This Warning

Certain ingredients in supplements—especially natural extracts, minerals, herbs, and soil-derived compounds—can contain naturally occurring trace levels of heavy metals such as lead, arsenic, or cadmium.

These trace amounts are:

  • Not added intentionally

  • Naturally present in the earth and plants

  • Often below federal safety limits

However, California Prop 65 uses much stricter limits than federal standards (often 100–1000x lower).
This means a product can require a warning even when it meets or exceeds all FDA, USDA, and international safety guidelines.

Is the Product Safe?

Yes. All Martial Athletics products:

  • Are manufactured in GMP-certified facilities

  • Undergo testing for purity and quality

  • Meet or exceed federal and industry safety standards

The Prop 65 warning is not a statement that a product is unsafe.
It is simply a California-specific notification required when certain ingredients contain any detectable amount of Prop 65-listed substances.

Prop 65 Limits vs. Normal Exposure

To put this into perspective:

  • A Prop 65 warning can be triggered by levels far lower than what is naturally found in many fruits, vegetables, nuts, and everyday foods.

  • Prop 65 limits are often hundreds of times stricter than what the FDA considers safe for daily consumption.

Because our supplements use concentrated natural ingredients (plants, herbs, minerals), they can contain naturally occurring trace elements that fall under Prop 65 rules.

Who Sees These Warnings?

These warnings apply only to California residents due to state law.
Customers outside California will not see a warning label unless required by other regulations.
